Lake Powell May Trip

Our first trip to the lake this year! However the weather seemed to hate us this trip! The wind blew and blew and blew for 2 days! We were all couped up in the houseboat going stir crazy! All the kids and all the adults crowded into the houseboat. The kids wanted so bad to go out and play in the sand but everytime we tried they got sand blasted. They wanted so bad to go swim in the water but it was way to rough. The guys had to continuously secure the anchors so we stayed put, and Blake and one point just went and sat in his boat and endured the wind for a few moments alone. :) There were some people camped on the beach next to us and they tied to hunker down and secure all their belongings while they left to escape being sand blasted and all there stuff blew away into the water. We tried to rescue it before it got away and even rescue some of their belongings in the water but we were not so successful with everything. It was crazy how the wind could just pick up some of the heavier items and just toss them about like a feather. However on Sunday, our last day there, the wind stopped blowing and the sun came out and for a few short hours we enjoyed Lake Powell! The kids got to play in the sand, hike around, swim in the cold water, and even do some tubing. We were right next to sand mountain so we went over there and climbed to the top and played around in the sand! It was a great way to end the trip!
