So my 2 oldest are back in school and have been now for over a week, but I'm just barely getting around to posting about their first day. Brock started Kindergarten and I was totally OK with it all - wasn't sad or felling as though he was so grown up until we got to school. Brock rode his bike to school and so did Corbin. Brock was so excited and thought it was so cool to park his bike at the bike rack and so of course so did Corbin. And as I was helping Corbin get his bike in the bike rack, Brock just disappeared into the school and into his classroom. Of course I was surprised that he didn't even say goodbye so I went into the school to find him. Once I did this was the conversation:
Me - "Brock, you didn't even tell me goodbye."
Brock - "Oh, goodbye."
Me - "Well at least can I have a hug and a kiss?"
Brock - "Alright, I guess so."
Needless to say he could have cared less about leaving me and saying goodbye. That's when I suddenly felt as though he was so grown up and independent and there was nothing I could do to stop him from getting older. He has loved Kindergarten though and looks forward to it everyday! (If only he can continue to feel that way about school in the years to come)
This picture of Corbin was actually his second day of school instead of his first. The first day of school things were so hectic getting him to school on time that I completely forgot to take his picture so I decided I would have to do it when he got home. Yeah, I completely spaced that one too. So I got my act together for the second day of school and was better about getting a picture and being on time to school. The reason we were struggling to be on time the first day in the first place was because I could not for the life of me get Corbin out of bed. He kept telling me how tired he was and that he just wanted to sleep more. Well school started at 9:15 and at 8:45 I literally dragged him out of bed and dressed him. When he came home from school this is what he brought home.
He must have been tired!! He loves school though and is already learning so much! What will it be like when all 4 of them are in school? I don't want to make them grow up any faster than they already are. What an adventure life is!
