DeMille Family: Turning 1 is so much FUN!!!

We made it through the first year!! WOW!! What a ride! And so to celebrate MaKelle and Daxton's 1st birthday we had to go all out and have a bash! I searched online for birthday ideas and came up with a very simple gender friendly theme of "bugs in the flower garden." I had fun planning and decorating! We had a BBQ, lunch opened presents and of course ate cake!! Daxton went crazy with his cake! MaKelle was a little more dainty and mostly just pulled off the gumdrops and ate them! By the time they were done Dax was covered from head to toe with frosting. He demolished his cake! MaKelle was also covered but not nearly as bad and her cake was still somewhat in tact! It was so fun to watch them! I cant believe they are one allready and it was a bitter sweet birthday party for me!

I made bugs and butterfly's on my Cricut and hung them on our deck and stuck them into our lawn on some skewers. We had bug plates and napkins, and my Mom (who saved me by coming down and helping me so much - I love you M & D!!!)she decorated my yellow cups with stripes for bees and my red cups with polka dots for ladybugs. I made flowers with cookies and gumdrops, had a wheelbarrow to put the gifts in and a toy wheelbarrow with the party favors in them for the kids. MaKelle had a butterfly cake and Daxton had a caterpillar, then I made a third cake for everyone else with bugs and flowers on it! I had fun planning and preparing, but was also so glad when it was all over with!!

DAXTON

Daxton is such a sweet cuddly boy! I absolutely LOVE his red curls and kissable cheeks. He is finally starting to walk and is cutting his 1st tooth (now that he's 1). Daxton loves to play with trucks and drive them all over the house on his knees. He always has his tongue hanging out and is great at giving wet slobbery kisses. He loves Elmo and Elmo is actually one of the words he can say! He is 20 lbs. of all boy! He loves to be outside and playing in the sandbox. Most of all he loves to hang out on Mommy's hip!! (we wish he would learn to sleep through the night though :p) WE LOVE OUR DAX!!

MAKELLE

MaKelle is a busy body! she loves to learn and discover new things and is like a sponge picking up on new things she sees others do all the time. She is always so happy, smiling and waving HI all the time! She loves to talk in her own little person language and gives lots of loves and kisses. Makelle weighs in below her younger brother at 17 lbs. She enjoys being outside and would love to be out there all day long picking all my flowers and tearing them into pieces. She loves her softie (blanket) and is attached to it for a good 1/2 hour after she wakes up in the morning and after every nap. She is definately a princess and is spoiled since she is the only girl! WE LOVE YOU KELLE!!
