WOW! We have had such a fun and busy summer and now school will start soon and I haven't blogged about a lot of the fun things we have done. So this is going to be a blog that I will be adding to over the next few days to cover all that we have done.
I took all 4 kids and went up to my parent's cabin in June for a few days. We enjoyed some hiking, fishing, visiting the horses, treasure hunts, roasting marshmallows (indoors) and we accomplished all of this in the mud in between consistent rain storms. We had a lot of fun though. We even brought along our butterfly tree house and watched our caterpillars spin cocoons, and turn into butterflies. Then we let them go in the mtns. And no trip to the cabin would be complete without the secret squirrel. When you leave your shoe out on the fireplace before you go to bed at night then the secret squirrel fills it with candy and hides it. So when you wake up in the morning you have to find it and the kids love it!
One day Brock and Corbin wanted us to set up the slip and slide for them. So as Blake was setting it up the twins came into the backyard and were absolutely intrigued. They were not in there swimming suits but that didn't stop them. Daxton loved it! He was running up and down the slip and slide with a perma grin. MaKelle didn't like it as much as Dax and it took her a little longer to warm up to it, but she to was eventually running in and out of the water
We also took a few trips down to the Washington City aquatic center. It is such a fun place and all my kids love it there! Even Daxton and MaKelle love playing in the water. Brock was so busy playing that I hardly ever saw him so I didn't get a picture of him. I'm sure we will be heading down there many more times
Swimming lessons! My kids love to go to swimming lessons in the summer! Both Brock and Corbin did really well this year in swimming. Brock is starting to swim well on his own and even doing the back stroke which I was really proud of him for! Corbin has no fear of the water. His teacher had her hands full trying to keep him from continually going under the water. He was a good little swimmer though and loved every minute of being in the pool! They got to go with their friends Weston and Laynie that live on our street which made it so much more exciting every day!
At the end of June I got to go up to Fish Lake for a weekend of scrapbooking with just the girls! My friend Rochelle has a family cabin in Fish Lake and a lot of the girls that Rochelle and I are in a scrapbooking group with as well as some other friends all went up for the weekend to enjoy some scrapbooking! I only came up and stayed one night since it was my first time leaving my twins overnight and it was the first night that I wouldn't be there to nurse them. It was so great, and fun and my babies did fine without me and that was the end of nursing! I cant wait to go next year! And the whole weaning thing was very bitter sweet and even though it was hard I am glad I did it!
You have not failed as long as you have tried.

all of it looks so fun! Your kids are growing so fast and I'm glad you finally got around to updating your blog! When you get a minute you need to email me about this butterfly treehouse. It sounds like something my boys would LOVE.
Whew! Your are one busy mamma that is always on the go and your family is ALWAYS doing fun things! Love the post!
how fun!!!
Ah the secret squirrel---so many fun memories of the cabin. And the scary ones like playing sardines in the dark mountains. Looks like you guys are having a fun busy summer.
btw---your supermom for nursing your twins this long. I agree, ending nursing is bitter-sweet. It means there growing to fast.
