Slacker

Yes I am a total slacker when it comes to blogging lately. There have been numerous times when I have told Blake that I was going to find time to blog that day. Well.... Didn't happen. Now that all the kids are in bed asleep, I have decided to forgo cleaning the kitchen and picking up all the toys and stay up blogging. And there is so much to blog about, so prepare yourself for this LONG blog. (Beware - picture overload!)

BROCK'S BIRTHDAY

I can't believe how my baby has grown up! Brock just turned 6 and he seems to no longer be a little boy. His grandma had a little party for all the March birthdays prior to his Birthday and so we got an early start on the partying. Then on his actual Birthday he got to open some presents from Mom and Dad and his siblings. Then on the weekend we had a friend party and he was in heaven! He has been so into Star Wars so of course he had to have a Star Wars Birhday Party. We played Star Wars games, hit a Darth Vader pinata, and had the ultimate star wars Birthday cake made by our neighbor! (Thanks Felicity it was perfect) And to top it all off he got loads of Star Wars gifts. including a storm trooper costume and helmet. (can you say spoiled!) And for the next week following his Birthday he continued to get gifts in the mail from Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Nana and Opa. Not to mention that he was the star of the week the entire week of his Birthday at school. Too much FUN!!!

SPRING PICNIC

One thing about spring is that it seems to tease us. It will warm up and we get spring fever only to be dumped on with snow the next day. I feel like I'm waiting for it to be really warm all spring long. So we took advantage of one of these warmer days by heading down south and taking a 4-wheeler ride and having a picnic. Brock and Corbin loved riding their 4-wheeler, and the twins were just happy to be outside. I have to say it was so cute though when Makelle would wave from one side to the other as though she were a beauty queen in a parade. Then the kids (including uncles) caught a lizard and enjoyed playing with it and torturing Grandma with it.

GRANDMA BEV'S 80th

Yes she is sooo young! We all partied till we were pooped! Blake's Grandma had a great Birthday Bash with tons of family and friends! We ate good food and enjoyed some wonderful entertainment. All the great Grandkids performed so Brock, Corbin, and Landon sang the song "Grandmother" from the Primary Childrens Songbook. They were so cute. But even cuter was Blake's cousin Mary's little girl Lainey who was doing the pee pee dance during her ballet! Love little kids! Thanks for the awesome party Gr. Bev!!

FIRST CAMP TRIP OF THE YEAR

We decided to take out the trailer for the first camping trip of the year over conference weekend. We went down by Zion and camped out by the Virgin River. Despite a little rain and cold we had a great time. We relaxed, watched conference, let the kids ride the 4-wheeler (which Brock got to experience his first 2 minor wrecks), played in the dirt, and we even had an Easter egg hunt. Blake's Mom did a little egg hunt for the kids along the river and they loved it of course. And when it finally warmed up a little outside we colored easter eggs!

EASTER WEEKEND

My sister and her husband (JJ and Vuki) blessed their little baby Daniel on Easter Sunday so we headed up to Lehi for the weekend. We got to stay at a hotel which of course is such a luxury for my kids. They love the swimming and the continental breakfast! It was so fun to be with all my family and spend some time with them. My kids really enjoyed playing with their cousins. The Easter Bunny did find us and filled our baskets - thank goodness! On Saturday we got together for another Easter egg hunt and lunch at JJ and Vuki's new house. I'm sure every one of those kids ate way too much sugar! JJ and Vuki have 5 new foster kids all siblings from the Congo living with them now and they are so sweet and so much fun! We got to meet them and got to know them. I only got one picture so I will have to get more of them next time we see them. But it was a great weekend and every single one of my family was at church together on Sunday, all 36 of us, WOW!! (and there is 2 more on the way - CONGRATS!!)

Suck it in honey. The hassles of wearing bikini's!

FIRST HAIRCUT

While up north Aunt Mimi (Emily) gave Daxton his first haircut. We only took off his tail and evened out the top cuz I couldn't bring myself to cut off his curls. He was not in the mood and therefore was not happy about it one bit!

Corbin got his haircut too, but he had to sit in the sink to do so (and was bribed to do so).

I did it!!

So I had been debating ever since MaKelle was born whether or not to pierce her ears. So about a week ago I was shopping at Wal-Mart (as usual) and walked by the jewelry counter and just on the spur of the moment decided to do it. So I called Blake and he said it was up to me. 20 minutes later it was done. She only cried for like 2 minutes and then she was fine. She doesn't really know they're there and hardly ever plays with them. I am so glad I did it! She looks sooo cute!! I also put her hair in a little baby pony tail for the first time, and of course I thought she looked so cute! Aren't girls fun!! I Love You Too Dax! Which reminds me of all the cute things they have been doing lately. I know I've already mentioned some of these, but hey I'm a proud mother. So they are playing patty cake, doing "so big", giving five, giving kisses, blowing kisses, crawling everywhere, pulling themselves up to things, cruzing furniture, getting into cupboards and drawers, they love the toilet (yuck!), and now they are starting to walk with assistance and their walking toys. Blake and I are thrilled with the fact that both babies say Ma Ma and Da Da even though they don't really know what that means. And finally Daxton got over his yucky ear infection but now has a cough and so does Corbin. Brock's over his strep, but now MaKelle has come down with rotavirus and an ear infection. So not fun. I can't wait for SPRING!

p.s. since we were making so many trips to instacare lately with all of our ill children, what difference would one more make - so I decided to go yesterday and get 3staples put into the back of my head. Yes, as embarrassing as it was, I had to get a gash in my head stapled shut for hitting it on the corner of my kitchen counter top. I was bent over picking up toys and stood up quickly only to be knocked back down. Humiliating! Needless to say I'm great and don't even know they are there. (sorry no picture)

Valentines Weekend

For Valentines weekend we went up to Salt Lake for the Monster Jam! Brock really wanted to go for his Birthday and both he and Corbin have been looking forward to it and so excited. So we drove up on Valentines and went to the Monster Jam at the Energy Solutions Arena. We left the twins with my parents at our hotel, and I'm sure they were much happier there. Brock and Corbin were both so excited to see the Monster Trucks. Brock's favorite truck called Maximum Destruction was there and when he saw it he about freaked out! Corbin's favorite truck of course is the Superman Monster Truck, but unfortunately it wasn't there. We had a blast, although Corbin did fall asleep for about 10 min. There's something about the roar of engines that lulls him to sleep cuz riding with Blake in his semis or on the equipment has the same effect.

Afterwards we went back to the hotel and picked up the Twins and went with all my family to the Pizza Factory and bowling! We all had fun! Even the twins thought the bowling balls were cool!

We spent the rest of the weekend hanging out at the hotel, swimming and spending time with my parents and my fam. Not really romantic but definitely FUN!!

Hiking and Pirate Pizza

A few weeks ago we went down to St. George to help haul off some trash from my sister's house that they moved out of and decided to make an evening of it. We ended up going to the red hill and hiking around with the kids. They were so excited to all be outside and running around, we all now have spring fever.

Afterwards we went to this new restaurant my sister Emily had told us about called Pirate Island Pizza (my kids called it Pirate Pizza). It is such a fun place for kids! They have such fun decor and atmosphere, and my kids loved the arcade! They don't just have pizza either, they have a lot of other food options and Blake and I thought the food was good. I definitely recommend it for kids. It is now Brock's favorite place to eat in St. George.

What's Going On

So we still have the sick bug around our house. But the good news is after I stopped taking the Zicam my taste buds started tasting again after a few days. The bad news is that I ended up getting sick with a sore throat. Blake has also had a sore throat, Daxton is fighting off an ear infection, MaKelle has a runny nose and cough, and Brock has also had a sore throat along with a fever. Corbin is the only one who hasn't gotten sick, lucky kid, and hopefully he doesn't.

A sick Brock

A very sick looking Dax - just look at those eyes :(

On a happier note Daxton and MaKelle have been learning so many new things lately. They are both crawling really well now and can get all around the house. However it seems they usually end up following me around wherever I go. And they are starting to play so cute together. They pull themselves up to furniture and are starting to cruz around the furniture. They wave bye bye, give kisses, play patty cake, and are "so big." They are truly so busy. They have been learning so much so fast and before I know it they will be walking. AHHHH!

We love bath time!

Here's a comfy place to sit

Since MaKelles hair is starting to get longer, I thought I would try something fun with her hair. It didn't last long though.

The babies are finally playing with and enjoying their Christmas from Santa

A few weeks ago we went up to Salt Lake for a landscape expo. Not that I went, but Blake and Travis did. Nicole and I went to the mall instead. We met up with my sis Beca and my neice Ashlynn and had a great time shopping and playing. My cousin Liz got us rooms at the Marriot right by Temple Square and we had so much fun! Thanks Liz! We of course had to ride trax and the boys loved it. We went over to the Gateway mall and the planetarium and enjoyed a few days away. The highlight for the kids of course was swimming, in fact thats all I got pictures of. The twins loved the water and Travis took Braxton for his first swim. There was a small gym right next to the pool and all Brock wanted to do was exercise with Blake. He was so cute pumping iron!

Braxton lounging by the pool

The boys were way excited about Valentines and so we made some Valentine cookies. When it came time to frost the cookies Brock wanted yellow frosting and Corbin wanted green frosting. And so we had yellow and green hearts! Corbin just wanted to eat them anyway he wasn't into the frosting part. He frosted one big one and then he just ate it the rest of the time. Brock however was very creative in his frosting - mixing the colors and creating designs.

One night Grandpa came over after the kids had gone to bed and he peeked in to say goodnight. Brock was already asleep with his monster truck placed neatly on his head and Blake just had to take a picture. The kids always have to pick a toy to sleep with every night

Corbin likes to try on MaKelle's headbands, and of course he talked Brock into wearing the yellow one since yellow is Brock's favorite color. And Corbin likes green and this turqoise headband was the closest thing to green. And since it was a boy color it was OK to wear a headband. :)
